I own all Ford vehicles, would like to own something else at some point, but just can't seem to do it with how well the company is doing as of late and the cars they are releasing.

I have 2 ford trucks and a GM car. When i buy a new vehicle i will seriously look at fords. Mainly because of the bail out situation and the fact that they did not take any of that money. Glad to see that they look like they will be able to turn it around on their own.

I don't own a Ford currently, but I've given serious thought to buying one of their trucks JUST because of how they handled the bail-out situation. That's a dumb reason to buy a car, but I really like to see companies do it right, and it appears that this is the case with Ford.

Besides, it never hurts to have a truck in the garage.

^ true, they handled the bail out very well, and the new cars they are producing are built very well, im personally a VW guy, just my thing and my passion, but grew up with dad having all ford trucks, we even have a 1948 ford super delux sitting in the garage waiting to be restored

Ford said it themselves in this story:

    http://www.autoblog.com/2010/01/27/ford-turns-down-heavy-duty-tug-of-war-challenge-with-gm/
Via twitter, Ford was asked by a Pickuptrucks.com reader if they'd accept the challenge. Ford said, "We typically don't respond to challenges. We let the vehicles speak for themselves."

Then they gave this link: http://www.fordvehicles.com/newsevents/news/newsdetail/?id=232&intcmp=2010-c-33years-f150

There is a reason that the F-series has been the best selling truck 33 years running. Not to toot Ford's horn or anything but for the same reason people say Toyota and Honda and such are beating the Detroit 3 is the same reason that Ford is beating GM and Chrysler in the truck market. They don't build junk. That's a pretty good reason to look at one if you feel the bailout reason is lame.

Although I don't think the bailout reason is lame. I think it's the best reason. They didn't mismanage. They took a gamble and worked to make it pay off. So far it has and they don't have Nanny Government telling them what they can and can't do nor do they have to deal with paying back taxpayer money. That's the way it's supposed to be. Take responsibility for yourself and fix your own problems.

I'm a recent ford convert. used to dislike them for reasons I am unsure of. I am still a chevy truck guy (though John's Lightening is a special brand o' badass)

I respect Ford trucks, jsut on an aesthetic front was never my cup of tea......Chevy struck more of a chord.

The Mustang openned my eyes to Ford, and the Fusion I got for the wifey openned them up further. what a great car......sure the mileage is weak, but it's all wheel drive, what did i expect?

feel and quality seem damn good.......and not boring lifeless and screaming "I have given up on anything remotely cool" like the Camry and Accord does.

I have a friend that said "Camry owners just seem to have given up on life" (Dave, that was Ken if your curious..LOL)

Ford did it the right way. Kudos to them for not taking the bailout and for marketing and producing a better product. If I was in the market for a new truck, the F-150 would be at the top of my list.
