Hey, I need a 4 channel amp around 85x4. I will be running my Crystal cPe 6.5 components... 65 rms 160 peak, and my Infinity reference 5.25's... 45 rms 135 peak... I'd like to keep it around $200, want it to be a good sound quality amp... any suggestions appreciated.

they only way you're going to do that retail is to go with a low end amp...
US Acoustics USB-4080: 85 x 4 @ 12.9 V / $179 at crutchfield.com
Lightning Bolt B2.400.4: 75 x 4 at 14.4V / $179 at sounddomain.com
Power Acoustik Gothic OV4-800: 85 x 4 @ 14.4 / $159 at sounddomain.com
Mtx 6304 is still on closeout from btoh sounddomain and crutchfield for $199 -- does 90 x 4 at 14.4 ... I've jsut not been too much of a fan of this amp as the one I owned and every other one I've seen has a tendency to get hot as hell... and the power supply is wayyyy to small for that size of amp.
Obviously you can ebay it... pick a decent 350 dollar amp and hit ebay and try to find it for 200 bucks...
good luck.The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
out of those choices my pick would be the us acoustics...ive heard good things about them but no personal experience...i almost bought one of their amps to power my 2 mm12s
plus theyre rated at 12.9 instead of 14.4 which means theyre underrated while the others are overrated(generally)

Any specific 350ers that I could find. I've been looking at the US Acousics amps, and they look pretty good on paper. I've also found the USX series of those amps, which retail at $280 for $172. I'm not sure if there's a big difference in the USB and the USX series. Anyway, anything you guys can think of. I was running a Soundstream Reference 200s... 100X2 at two ohm. It was a good amp, but is 4 years old and I think it's time for an upgrade. I would be willing to spend over $200 also, that is just a ballpark figure, since I do want something that is an upgrade from the Soundstream."The Big C"

You could try a RockFord Punch 550x. Makes about 70*4 rms. You might be able to find a closeout on Crutchfield or SoundDomain.

far as USX versus USB -- i think its just a matter of year / model ... i think they do the same power and stuff... just difft cosmetics.
honestly tho, i think soundstream is a bit "above" the lightning or the USAcoustics by a long shot. SS makes good ****.
Hifonics Zeus ZX6400 -- 85 x 4 -->
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&query=Zeus+ZX6400+&cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&ht=1&from=R10&currdisp=2&itemtimedisp=1&st=2&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&BasicSearch=
this is probably your best bet -- hifonics makes a good product -- msrp is like 425 ... and they're going on ebay for 230 (there are like 5 of them in that this link -- all in the 220 - 240 range).
Fosgate 551X - 75x4 -->

most are going for 230 + shipping.
Alpine MRV-F540 - 80 x 4 -->

cheapest one is like 320 -- most are 350 so this is proly outa the range (msrp is like 600).
i say go with the hifonics... pick of the litter in my opinion... especially for 230 bucks...
you can go hunting like an old blue thunder 754 (that amp i just got that was blown to bits and rebuilt)... thing is a tank, but you'd have to be buying used and chances are you'd be buying someone else's problems on a 7 year old amp.The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
