I have been using DVDfab for a while to put all my DVDs on HD, which I use my WD TV to watch them on. I can't get it to rip a certain DVD. I went to the site's support page only to find out I apparently purchased it from an unlicensed retailer when I downloaded it. Well, that sucks, because I uninstalled and re-installed it hoping maybe to remedy my problem, and that's when I discovered the unlicensed part:( Now, I'm stuck...Anyway, so what is the best way to purchase it? What programs do you guys use for this type of stuff? I liked the way dvdfab worked, but I don't want to get screwed again purchasing it improperly. I OWN all of the DVDs that I rip, but I love the convenience of the WD TV, not to mention the reassurance of having all my movies backed up! Any advice or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated:)

I like anyDVD by slyfox. So simple Stevie Wonder can use it.
I use clone DVD to backup my disk.

I don't understand....? Just go to DVDfab's site and purchase 'directly' from them? How else did you purchase this?? If you can't buy from their site who can you buy from?

Their product is good and is updated regularly!

Their is a program called DVD43 (decrypter) that works really well with DVD shrink, however it does not play nicely with DVDfab.

I use DVDfab myself. Occasionally, I have run across a DVD it would not rip. Slysoft's products are equally good, I just like DVDfab.

Being the dumbass that I am, I went to dvdfab6.com, which apparently was wrong:( Did you get it from DVDfab.net ? The prices are much higher than when I purchased it from the wrong place:o I would prefer to stick with DVDfab since I know it works for me, and that's what I'm accustomed to. So DVDfab.net then, right? I'll check some of the others you guys listed to. I prefer to have ONE program to handle it, and not one prgram + decrypter program etc. What format do you guys rip them in. I've been using .vob, and not converting since the WD TV works great with that. I do not compress either, as I want full quality. I forgot to mention I have a 64bit OS, so some such as DVD43 won't work with it if I remember correctly. Thanks again for all the input so far, keep it coming please:)

AnyDVD(HD) is essential when ripping Blu-Ray's. DVD Shrink was fine until Blu-Ray's came along; I rip discs when I want to watch it on a laptop (on a plane) or convert for iPod use. Digital downloads have (temporarily) alleviated the iPod issue, but I don't see them offering FREE digital downloads forever (or even every DVD/Blu-Ray release).
