I've been doing that since I started driving. Mainly because the cops just fling their doors open and step out in to traffic at random points seemingly totally oblivious to the world around them. It's not so much hitting them or the vehicles that is teh concern but rather destroying mine in the collision.

My favorite is when there's a speed trap on the left shoulder, and a cop is outside of his car with a speed gun, and just steps out into traffic to pull someone over. On the left lane of a highway. Are you insane, dipshit? You just clocked me going 80, and you expect me to notice you and stop in 100 yards? Idiots.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Old news, it's been the law in IL for quite some time. Probably close to 10 years, IIRC. It's really a courtesy that idiots couldn't follow so they had to make it a law.

Yeah, that happened to me, twice. He wasn't clocking me but the guy passing me in the right lane. He walked across the left lane, in to the center lane and pointed at the guy rocketing by me in the right lane. I stood on the brakes so hard I heard the rubber lip on the lower valance dragging on the ground. If I hadn't changed to the left lane, I would have mowed him down. I pulled over, got out and started screaming at him and his partner stopped me, told me to get back in my vehicle and then turned around and started yelling at him too.

I think I posted the second one here already somewhere. One happened here in NJ, the other in Maryland.

We've had that law in Ga. for about 3 years now. Common sense IMO. In the last 5 years, we've had two deputies and two constuction workers killed on the side of the road. You don't want to get a ticket for no pull over ($500) and speeding in a construction zone ($650) unless you have a lot of money you don't need. Hitting a stopped vehicle at 70 mph makes for a very bad day.

There is NO law for yielding in RI. At least none that I could see in 4 years of driving in that retarded state.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
