replacing duel binding post jumpers

I have RTi A3 fronts and RTi4 rears. I was wondering what results people got by replacing the jumpers with speaker wire. I read in another post that the same kind of wire should be used to jump as they are wired to the amp with. I work in a movie theater as a projectionist and i found a spool of wire that the theater is wired with and took it. It is 12 gauge wire and the bare wire is pretty stiff, no brand name but it seems like pretty good stuff. i don't think one set of posts have a large enough opening to fit both the jumper wire and the incoming wire in the same hole. Would it be worth it to use smaller gauge wire as jumpers.
I used smaller gauge on the surrounds so that would be easier to do but probably not as important.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure on the wire importance but I have heard that this is one of the cheapest tweaks you can do to your rig and many people swear by it. I am going to have to try this myself someday. I'm sure you will get more/better advice here soon.

If you're going to do that you need to experiment with Higher Quality wiring and even jumpers...I haven't done this myself. But many people claim they've gotten better connections by upgrading. The problem is that you shouldn't just use stock wiring but something upscale and try different brands to see if you can 'hear' a difference!

That's my favorite statement of the year so far....I just took it ****, lol.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
At one time I replaced the stock jumpers on my 1.2TLs with 12 guage stranded copper wire. I didn't notice any change or improvement of SQ. The secure factor was there in that the stock jumpers were rotting away.

LOL Mark, will we see that in your sig soon?

I recently replaced the jumpers on my A5's with 12g wire. I also added spikes to the speaker at the same time. I could tell a difference from before. It seemed a little tighter all around. I am not sure if it was the spikes or the replacement jumpers but there was a difference. If you plan on replacing the jumper with 12g wire i would also look at bananas. This allows you to connect the jumper wire through the hole in the post and stick the banana in the end.
It is surely worth a try. If you install them and dont notice a difference you can always switch it right back.Front - RTiA5's
