I personally have the psw110 and it is ok. I am currently looking to upgrade it soon as i want a little more punch for HT. Depending on the budget that you have i would also look into the dsw and micrpro line of subs as well.

Thats a nice looking setup you have there. Very clean. Looks like you need so treatments on either the floor or the walls. The bare walls are terrible for acoustics. Overall though it looks great.

    Welcome to the club .

    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

    Tks Packetjones,
I forgot to mention that my current setup is still a WIP when sound proofing is taken into account.I am looking to add some carpets to cover entire floor area and some sound absorbant material in walls as per experts opinion.

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!

I would go with the PSW125 in that series and if you have the money you would be well-advised to move up to the DSW600 a much better sub that will last you for a while!

    Hi Cnh,

Does going up the order in Polk Sub category will over power my room and also makes me to feel TSI 400 underpowered ? I would like to reiterate my room dimension "14 * 12 feet".That's the reason why I am thinking around PSW 110.

You might also want to take a look at the PSW-111. I was planning on going with the PSW125 until i went to listen and talk to some people the the speaker shop. The 125 and 111 use the exact same 150 watt amp, which seems like it under powers the larger 12 inch speaker but is a good match for the 8 inch. The 125 can go slightly lower because of the larger woofer but its hardly noticeable when doing test loops. The same power in the smaller 8 inch gets more accurate sound especially for music. I was expecting this sub to disappoint me but it far exceeded my expectations. My room is 13x20 with listening area of 13x15 with a 7 foot ceiling in the basement and it rattles the 3rd floor during movies. Sub is turned to 3/4 on the volume knob and receiver sub level is at -1, so plenty of room to turn it up.

Essentially I'm thinking in terms of a sub you could keep for a while and use in an even larger room...no the PSW125 is not too big for your room nor is the DSW600 because you can 'tune' down the bass!

The PSW111 is also a good sub (mentioned above).

What you must remember is that the tower speakers you have can almost reach into the PSW110s range or pretty close to it. For HT, especially you want something that will dig into the low 30hz zone as a minimum performance level. The DSW600 will get you to 25hz which is almost bass that is 'felt' as well as heard..GREAT for LFEs in a movie...will rattle your house.

But I do like the PSW111 for 'music' it's a nice choice for that!

I agree with the suggestion for the 125, I have one in a similar sized room and it really performs well. While the DSW600 would probably be a better sub all around, the 125 does an excellent job for the cost. Also, look into the PSW505 as well, Newegg has it for $250 shipped and it would be a more "future proof" sub IMHO. Welcome to Club Polk.

just another though. Polk is doing this deal now if you spend more than 500 bucks on speakers or subs you get the PSW111 for free. It works slightly different at different stores but crutchfield is advertising it until feb. 20th. You might get a really good set up if you bought a DSW pro500 for 550 and get the PSW111 for free (300 dollar sub, not a bad deal). Looking at your room set up you would probably place the sub along the open wall between the stand and one of the towers, bass seems to get more dispersed in a location like that. Placing a second smaller sub closer like the side of the couch might give you really good sound especially for movies.
