Integrated Tube Amp

Has anyone had any experience or heard much about Opera Consonance Integrated Tube Amps? Specifically the Reference 880 model. Not able to find much info other than international pricing and specs. What would be a good price for mint condition. Thanks :)

    I would say that $550 is a good price as long as it sounds good. It retails for around 3K and audiogon wants about 1K. Can you go over there and demo it?

    Thinking about it but not much experience with tube amps. Have a couple of options in the area, including B&K amp/preamp or Vintage Sansui integrated amp for much less.:mad: Why do these all come up at the same time?

    I'd pass on the Sansui if you've got this kind of budget.

    What's the B&K combo?

    I don't know nothin' about that tube amp in the CL ad. But I sure would like to demo those Vandersteen's! :cool:

    Yeah, i don't think i'd pay much more than that. That's a little baby amp.

    I like the tube amp idea so far. Have you seen Nikolas812's integrated in the FM?

    What speakers are you going to be driving?

    Either SDA Studio 1C's or Monitor 10B's. Thought about maybe using it for bedroom with SDA-CRS.

    Nik's integrated sounded GREAT on a set of Monitor 7Cs, if that helps you at all. ;)

    Think that Nik's amp might not have enough to push my 1C's, although it is a beautiful amp :o. So would you pass on the B&K for a back-up with the Monitor 10's or SDA-CRS.

    I mean, as a back-up, sure, it won't be bad, just make sure you don't overpay.

    I think Nik's amp would make your 1Cs sing... don't think it would bring the house down or anything, though. It pushed 7s way beyond my normal listening level, at least. :D

    Curently using a older Sony Amp circa. 1990 putting out 120 wpc with a Adcom GTP 400. Sounds a liitle bright.Looking to add a little warmth to the SDA 1C's. ;) Also have a pair of RTA15TL's that need to be massaged. :D
