The Stig revealed

Hey did anyone see Top Gear on monday. It was the season opener of season 13 I believe.

Anyhow, they had an Enzo FFX. Wicked ride. It did there lap the fastest of any car they have ever tested.

Once the lap was done the Stig came out and revealed himself as none other than Michael Schumacher.

I am rather sure that since the 100 Billion $$$$$$$ FFX was being tested Ferrari doesn't let just anyone drive that. I must have missed that phone call. Darn

Which brings up the topic, who exactly is the real Stig anyway ????

Cool show. The three hosts racing various forms of transportation and getting there at the exact same time is getting a bit old. Just stick to cars that none of us can afford.

Yeah, if you look at the credits, they listed The Stig AND Michael Schumacher. This was big news back when this show aired a year or two ago.

There's actually a few different stigs. Someone else was revealed last year at some point as well.

But yes. This is my favorite TV show by far. :D

I hate how we're years behind on Top Gear. Just download the torrents, eff waiting for BBC America to re-air them.

And yeah, Shumacker may have been the Stig for that episode (as mentioned, he's the only one Ferrari would let drive the thing) but the general consensus is that there are a bunch of actual Stigs.

Yeah, there was Stig #1 that was a test driver for an F1 team IIRC, but the Schumacher episode was more of a joke- it's not him (most the time anyway).

On a related topic, does anyone know where I can find the photo of Schumacher in the Ferrari where he got all four wheels in the air (and cracked the windshield when he landed)? I think it was on a test run on a track w/ a bridge- the hump for the bridge was how he got airborne.

That was the ROC. Race of Champions. Not sure was year but they had a jump where the windshield broke.

I thought it was in England.

I made a poor attempt to google it. Couldn't find it, but didn't try hard.

Copyright issues with the US. In Britain, music on TV shows is considered legal property of the government or whatever, so there isn't a problem getting permission from the artists to use their music. You notice they play a lot of Muse, i've heard Radiohead, etc etc etc.

Copyrights apply in the US, so it's legal issues that keep us a season or so behind.

What you're watching on BBCA isn't new. It's at least a year old, sometimes more.

It's just the rights that BBC America has to re-air the show, it's basically syndication. The show airs in a timely manner over in England, and soon after you can find the shows online in less than legal ways.

EDIT COncealer beat me to it in a much more informed manner :)

That was one heck of a lap turned in my Schumacher in the FXX though. Wasn't it something like 7 seconds faster than any other car has turned.
