ED A2-300 comparable to DSW 600?

I'm looking at a sub for a 3000 cubic foot room that will primarily be a HT setup (movies, sports, tv, etc). I have been looking at a refurbished DSW 600 (or 500) and thought I had settled but started reading a little more about the ED A2-300. It looks like it can reach a little lower and is a little more solid than the 600.

Anyone hear both of these subs? Even though this is for a HT setup I think I lean a little more to a musical bass setup.

Elemental Designs A2-300 12" 200 watts (18-100Hz +/- 3dB)
Polk DSW pro 600 12" 250 Watts (25- 125Hz -3dB)

I understand the Hz rating and the ED looks much better but the 3dB loses me. I've also looked at HSU STF-2 and Velodyne VDR12. These are all currently around $350 with the Polk binging a refurb. ED, HSU are custom builds (no access) and will be listening to the Velodyne today.

For those that know is the ED the most balanced of the bunch?

Can't say too much, but I use a A2-300 and it is a solid performer for HT, and not too bad with music. I think a lot would depend on how your room plays with it and what speakers you run with it. I have not heard the DSW but I have read many many posts of its music abilities and purely guessing here would give the nod to the Polk. Hopefully you will hear from someone with experience with both and can offer you more than a guess.

Thanks for the A2-300 thoughts everything helps.

It give you the low rumble that comes from running horses etc? Have you tried with classical music? Can you hear the plucking of the strings on a stand up bass?

Like you said I hopefully there somebody that has auditioned both.

FYI: ordered an A2-300 mostly do to a pricing limit, and its rep as a very good HT performer and above average to average music performance. Hsu was an option and a Polk dsw 600 pro referb. (bid on 8 of them and wasn't able to win any of them)

I don't feel like I settled as all are close to each other and a rather large upgrade on my PSW 202.
