I have a simple project, but it needs to be custom made. I need a string of 110v light sockets (like Mexican festival lights) wired in parallel, with the bulb sockets spaced about 18" apart. This would have to be outdoor compliant. The string needs to be about 60 feet in total length, terminated on one end with a 110v plug. As it will be hanging in plain view, it needs to be made with good appearance.
I'll get full specifications together once I do some measuring. The string of lights would go around my patio and plug in behind my bar. No bulbs necessary, those would be purchased here. I'll send you money for the raw materials up-front, so you don't have to come out-of-pocket for anything--then we'll agree on a price for your labor. I'll pay for shipping to get the lights here.
Anyone interested?

Steve,
60 feet of lights at 18 inch spacing will yield a total of 40 lights. Assuming you're using a standard 20A circuit, you will be able to install a maximum total of 1920W on this circuit. This would be equal to 48 watts per socket. Realistically you're looking at 40W per bulb. Will that be adequate for what you want to achieve?Proud SOPA Member since 2005! -
I plan using 13 watt equivalent colored CFL's. The sockets won't run the entire span.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

You got it man, let me get some measurements tonight, do some diagrams as I'll need "blank" spots in the wire to go around pillars on the patio. About the last 15 feet or so will just be the cord.
I'll work up the specifics and send to you. Email me bubba.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
Thanks for the URL, but I need a "custom" job, plus I'd like to be able to employ a polkie on the project.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
These are approximates/rough specs:
apprx 67ft in length total
apprx 26 sockets (standard lightbulb socket "E26") (13w CFL's--24" spacing)
1 grounded plug
outdoor rated wiring/sockets (will be hung year-round in the elements)Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2
