Is it just me or has the quality of items on woot dropped considerably since being taken over by Amazon. Haven't seen anything interesting in ages.

Have to agree. Their customer service is among the worst among any internet retailer I've ever dealt with as well. I don't like the new layout. The thing I liked most is the stories and they bury it among all kinds of crap it seems.

I will not be dealing with them anymore just because their customer service is absolutely terrible.

    When was that?

I ordered a Swann camera a couple weeks ago. I gave them my physical address as opposed to my USPS address since the last time I bought something similar, it was shipped with either ups/fedex and I didnt see anywhere stating it was different. I noticed they were sending it USPS and emailed them right away. They said they would send it out when they got it back. A few days later, I got a refund. I sent an email back, didn't get a response for a week while I was on my cruise. Sent them another email and they said they couldn't do anything about it until after the wootoff. There were other things, but that's the gist of it. It just seems that they dont give a crap about actually trying to help other than sending an email.

I agree that the things seem to have dropped off after Amazon took over. I just keep the Woot-A-Lyzer on in the background when I'm on the computer. I haven't bought anything, in a Woot-Off in probably a year.

Woot offs are no longer fun since they changed their shipping charges.

Woot is now Amazon's clearing house. Still OK deals now and then, but not nearly as good as when they truly were a "one day, one deal" site. Now, they have upwards of 100 items per day with all the plus sites.

New, new shipping policy is $5 for everything in cart at time of checkout. Last shipping policy was $5 for all purchases before midnight no matter how many times you 'checked out'. Old, old policy was $5 shipping per order (but that was before they had countless other items for sale in a given day).

Definitely not what it used to be. You actually have to stay glued to the woot-off, and solve riddles/math problems, etc. to get a link to 2 Bags of Crap. They used to randomly put a bag up and sell around 1500 to the first to successfully get through (without the servers crashing). Many complained that bots made it unfair. Personally, I'd rather go back to that way!

Just thought I would mention another woot off started at midnight central time today. Just in case you couldn't sleep, you might come across a few deals. Since Amazon took over it hasn't been as good, but you never know what may come up.
