Rti A9

I am looking to put together a HT system and have a few questions. In the middle of renovating my basement I have one area 16.5 x 40 (man room) , back parts gonna have a wet bar front part HT. I was thinking about purchasing the TSI series (500's for mains, but I think I might step up and go for the Rti A9's instead.
Not much of an audiophile would I see a difference in going to the Rti series from the Tsi. Or should I stick with the cheaper Tsi series? I hate buying something that I am going to regret in the future, but I dont wanna spend a furtune on this system seeing how my wife's alrady gonna shoot me when she finds out how much I am gonna spend.
Also i was thinking of getting Onkyo TXNR807B receiver, whould that be a good choice, any other suggestions, and am I going to need to get a amp as well to run Rti A9's as mains?
Any suggestions and comments would be great.

I'd definitely step up to the RTI a9. What's your total budget?

I have the 807 as well as the RTi a9's and really like the setup. I started out with the Monitor line, which is the precursor to the TSI line (I think) and it was also nice, but go for the RTi's if you can....
I ended up getting an amp to pair with the 807, but it didn't do a bad job on it's own... -
My budget I would like around 3000 to 4000 canadian. If I do decide to get a amp to run the a9's what would you suggest I have a issue finding amps for home audio.
-
I don't know enough about amps to start recommending them, but I will tell you the a9's are hard to get here in Canada. Future Shop, Crutchfield, and Gibby's Audio are the few places I found and all were online deals...

Yah I was looking at Gibby's they seem to be the cheapest. They are on sale right now. But I am gonna hold out for a bit, got about a month of reno's left before I can use them anyways. Already have all my speaker wires ran in the walls and ready to go. Im kinda liking this Audio thing I thing i see an addiction coming on

I just bought the RTI A7's from Future Shop and love them! Given that yoru not an audiophile I can't imagine the cost of the A9's being worthwhile, given your budget for $4,000.
When I bought mine I bought the Yamaha HTR6290 amp (RX-V1900 in the US i think) for $699, incredible deal as they just went on clearance, I would check locally and see if you can get this amp, it's awesome!
RTI A7 - $1300
Amp - 700
csi a6 - 500
fxi 4 - 400
sub - 400
with taxes that will fit in your budget with a few hundred left for cables. -

Quick question - I just bought the A9's and the 807 - waiting for delivery
Did you try bi-amping them? Wondering if there will be a significant benefit. I will only be running the 2 fronts for the next couple of months while my bank account recovers -

No, I have not tried bi-amping..
Letting the dust settle before I try any 'tweaking'. I usually end up making things worse... -
Let the dust settle & allow some time for break-in as well
