To these Monitor 10's.

And haven't built stands yet. So here are my temp redneck stands. A OLD **** pair of Realistic bookshelfs.

Now just get rid of that nasty EQ!

Looks nice and you're on your way

Yeah, it's really more of a darker maroon. It's do for removal soon as I have already started in the dining room with laminate hardwood flooring.

Lookin' good. Those 10s are beautiful. As far as the EQ goes if you run in bypass most of the time DUMP IT! Even in bypass mode it is causing noise.

I used to love EQ's too, but after the upgrades EQ's took away from SQ.

I used to use EQs all the time but I've found the higher the resolution the gear the more detrimental effect EQs have on the sound quality.

I do agree with you. I wish there was an EQ that wouldn't crap up the signal quality.

The idea of EQs was a good one, but if you need to tweak the sound of your system, try swapping ICs, speaker cables, preamp, etc. You can usually accomplish the same thing that way. Plus, if you really have to tweak things on the EQ, maybe you have the wrong speakers for your taste.

I agree! But a EQ can be a cheap 'tweak'. I am happy with what I got, but I don't think I will ever be satisfied totally. Is anyone ever really satisfied with their audio gear? I always want something better.

Halo, have you tried that HK 870 amp I gave you on the Polks? That thing may surprise you with the current it has. Get those stands made for the 10s and when you put some air around them tilted back a bit, they will sound even better.

Ken, I haven't really tried it out yet. I did replace the power cable though. I think I am gonna hook it up out in my guitar room to an old Pioneer receiver.

I'd replace the tv too! I hated the hitachi my dad had. The remote was horrid and the picture quality left something to be desired. Same exact one you have there.

Well IF I had the cash I might just do that!! But since I don't I won't. The TV gets a nice pic in HD, I am happy with it. And I use the remote for the DVR anyways. I am not sure what you definition of horrid is, I bought this TV brand new about 3.5 years ago now. Its 57" and has a better pic than my father-in-laws 42" lcd imo.

I just didn't like the colors the hitachi produced. My friends 50 hitachi plasma put my dads to shame. I made him upgrade to a sharp lcd and the picture is light years ahead. My dad got his about 3.5 years ago too and we just sold it on craigslist a few months ago.

It was okay for the price but yeah when you get a chance, a flat pane's knockin at your door!
