Well finally got everything moved and hooked back up yesterday. Thanks to John, I won the HK AVR here in karma. So I now have something with pre-outs again to run my Integra M504. And thanks to Ken for hooking me up with the Monitor 10's. I am back in audio bliss!
yeah....I coulda moved the CD's and Wii controller etc etc before taking the pic I guess....:p
I went from these old Canon TLS. Yeah I know, Audiobahn drivers. lol I was really relying on my sub heavily before!
To these Monitor 10's.
And haven't built stands yet. So here are my temp redneck stands. A OLD **** pair of Realistic bookshelfs.
I still have some re-arranging and cable management to take care of.

Now just get rid of that nasty EQ!
Looks nice and you're on your way
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I actually run the EQ bypassed most of the time.--Gary--

And that's the best those Realistic's have ever sounded."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -

Yeah, it's really more of a darker maroon. It's do for removal soon as I have already started in the dining room with laminate hardwood flooring.--Gary--

Lookin' good. Those 10s are beautiful. As far as the EQ goes if you run in bypass most of the time DUMP IT! Even in bypass mode it is causing noise.

AmenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Maybe one day, they will make an EQ without the noise,if it's possible.I use to love Equalizers.PolkAudioClyde

I used to love EQ's too, but after the upgrades EQ's took away from SQ.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. I used to use EQs all the time but I've found the higher the resolution the gear the more detrimental effect EQs have on the sound quality.
I do agree with you. I wish there was an EQ that wouldn't crap up the signal quality. -
It seems like back in the day everybody had an EQ.

The idea of EQs was a good one, but if you need to tweak the sound of your system, try swapping ICs, speaker cables, preamp, etc. You can usually accomplish the same thing that way. Plus, if you really have to tweak things on the EQ, maybe you have the wrong speakers for your taste.

Cables cables everywhere!
I notice you have a hitachi 1080i tv there! My dad had one of those for some time
Nice rig, what's next?Main Surround -

What's next? erm....I kinda want a power conditioner, SDA any model, a tube power amp, tube preamp, better surrounds, another sub, better WAF, more money to feed my audio hunger......and the list goes on and on!--Gary--

I agree! But a EQ can be a cheap 'tweak'. I am happy with what I got, but I don't think I will ever be satisfied totally. Is anyone ever really satisfied with their audio gear? I always want something better.--Gary--

Halo, have you tried that HK 870 amp I gave you on the Polks? That thing may surprise you with the current it has. Get those stands made for the 10s and when you put some air around them tilted back a bit, they will sound even better.

Ken, I haven't really tried it out yet. I did replace the power cable though. I think I am gonna hook it up out in my guitar room to an old Pioneer receiver.--Gary--

I'd replace the tv too! I hated the hitachi my dad had. The remote was horrid and the picture quality left something to be desired. Same exact one you have there.Main Surround -

Well IF I had the cash I might just do that!! But since I don't I won't. The TV gets a nice pic in HD, I am happy with it. And I use the remote for the DVR anyways. I am not sure what you definition of horrid is, I bought this TV brand new about 3.5 years ago now. Its 57" and has a better pic than my father-in-laws 42" lcd imo.--Gary--

I just didn't like the colors the hitachi produced. My friends 50 hitachi plasma put my dads to shame. I made him upgrade to a sharp lcd and the picture is light years ahead. My dad got his about 3.5 years ago too and we just sold it on craigslist a few months ago.
It was okay for the price but yeah when you get a chance, a flat pane's knockin at your door!Main Surround -

Yeah well there is other stuff in the front of the line knockin' on my door first! I am happy with what I have in the TV realm for the time being. Maybe yours wasn't dialed in/adjusted right or something.--Gary--
