Super Bowl XLIV - Who ya got?

It's nice to actually see the two #1 seeds in the big game this year, it's the first time it's happened in as long as I can remember. I've thought all along that these are the two teams that should be playing each other, just feels right given the incredible season that each team had.

So, who ya got and how close do you think it'll be?

I'll start the voting. The Colts are my team, and while I think they've got a tougher match ahead of them than others believe, I think they'll find a way to pull out the win in the end like they've done all year.

I'm hoping we don't get another boring Super Bowl. I'm going with the Saints on this one. I'm an NFC guy and could't bring myself to root for an AFC team.

One more thing, to show my age, I'm still mad at the Colts for leaving Baltimore.:o;)

I would like to see the Saints take it, but...they better show up with a fire in their belly and a better game plan to overcome the Colts.

I really don't care either way to be honest, but I picked the Colts because I live in Indiana and it would feel wrong not to. but Breese is a Purdue Alum, and my wife attends Purdue so I will not be dissapointed to see him do well.

    Colts.

I believe that the Vikings outplayed the Saints yesterday, save for the few mistakes that cost them the game. I also believe that the Jets that the Colts played yesterday would have mopped the field with the Saints.

I'm saying it'll be an easy win.

Last time was 1993 I think it was. Both the Cowboys and Bills were the number one seeds that year IIRC. Cowboys won 52-17. That was the year the "What's the difference between the Buffalo Bills and Corn Flakes?" jokes started.

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it, Buffalo and Dallas were No 1 seeds in '94 as well and both teams waltzed away with the championships to meet, yet again, in the Super Bowl. Dallas won, yet again, but only managed 30 points and the Bills scored 13 I think it was? Either way, the Bills were demolished for the 4th consecutive loss in the Super Bowl.

    Anybody know for sure?

I'm taking the Saints. I think they are super hungry and the Colts are pretty beat up. The Saints also seem to play quite well after an extended break. Hopefully it all pans out for them in a couple weeks.

    Colts win...31-23.
I am a Colts fan but do have to admit that I've been pulling for the "aints" forever. I guess since they hardly ever did anything positive over the years I wouldn't be heartbroke it the Saints pulled this one out of the hat.
Still, I don't see the Saints "D" doing a lot against Manning. Gotta go with Colts on this one.

I tend to agree that it's going to be a tough go for the Saints. These are my two favorite NFL teams by a long shot. But I am a long time, dyed in the wool Saints fan so I'm rooting for them. Geaux Saints!

I'm more of a Peyton Manning fan than a Colts fan, as well as my wife is a pretty diehard Colts fan, so we're pulling for the Colts ourselves, but with everything that a Saints win would mean for NO, I wouldn't be completely upset if the Saints did win.

I'm not sure why, but I kinda wanted to see Favre to grab another Super Bowl ring. Since N.O. took that away, I've guess I've got to go with Indianapolis.

I'm going to go with the Saints. I don't really care in the end who wins, its just I would like to see them do it as I think they are still thought very little of compared to other teams.

^^^ So why post in a thread about it then? I could have put in an option in for "I don't care", but didn't want to muck up a thread about the games with a bunch of "I don't care who wins" comments.

Im gonna with the colts on this one is well. Manning does a good job of clock mangement and I believe if they can keep Brees off the field like he was yesterday the colts are not going to make the same mistakes that the vikes did.

dont you find it the least bit ironic that you are crapping up a thread whining about crapping up a thread? you and h9 need to get together and have a thread about how good it makes you feel to tell the world how little you think someone elses opinion is worth. BTW! since dan fouts doesnt play for the chargers anymore "I Dont Care Who Wins!"

I'm sorry man but what games were you watching. the last two were probably one the most exciting super bowls period. In fact, with exception of a few (pittsburgh/seattle first comes to mind, what a boring game), most games this decade have been great. I guess you just don't like football;)

After watching the Minnesota pass rush and the Saints lack of second half offense, it is hard to see them beating the Colts.

I'm going with the Colts as well. They are playing the best football at this point. The only chance the Saints have is to try and jump out early...but even there the Colts are a good come from behind team...so the Colts really have to "lose" this game rather than the Saints 'win' it. If the Saints are to come out on top?
