i have recently picked up a pair of 2b sda's with no interconnect cable ive been using a rca monster cable in the round sda port tested the sda by turning the balance knob and heard the sda effect on both channels for some reason to me they sound better without the cable in is there that much of a difference between the the real cable or will they sound the same or how placement sensitive are they any thoughts?

placement is important to any speaker.. but if you are getting the SDA sound then it appears your speakers are working fine. there will not be any difference if you had a SDA interconnect cable.

i run my 2B's both ways... with and without the cable.. just depends on my mood. one thing SDA owners forget sometimes is that the SDA speaker is a fine speaker even without using the interconnect cable. ;)

That's probably the reason Polk Audio made the cable easy to remove.. instead of making it a permanent connection somehow.

Listen to your speakers whichever way sounds best to you.

    congrats!

Welcome to Club Polk mcintosh12. I would seek out an original SDA cable. IMHO it will be safer and probably sound better than what you are using.

Al, if they made it permanent then how would you move the speakers!?!
