Epicure Products International, originally in Newburyport, MA
They made good to very good speakers for quite a few years; the name was ultimately sold to someone and quality went south.
www.humanspeakers.com has plenty of information. -

I still have a pair of EPI 1200s from college days (circa 1985). They still rock. I too had to replace the 12" subs - I think it was from the first time my girls played The Spice Girls on them!!! :mad:7.3 HT: Sunfire TGR-3, Sunfire Series II, Mirage OMD-28, OMD-5 (x4), REL T1 (2), T2, Oppo 103D, Optoma HD8200PRO, 106" screen, SB Touch

I would suggest personal exploration from time to time Mark.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Should be fine speakers for the price, but demo them first to make sure.

I have a pair of EPI M50's. They're a small sealed bookshelf with a single tweeter and 6.5" driver. Surrounds on the woofers are rubber, and still in great shape. I'm listening to them right now, actually, as they're my computer speakers.Ludicrous gibs!

I would say knowing EPI's reputation and them being $60. I would demo them, if you like them, buy them. But offer $50 though!--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out.
