New Marantz 6001 receiver help from community please

I just purchased a new Marantz 6001 7.1 receiver and I hooked up the HDMI out to my Mitsubishi 73 rear projection and hooked the two HDMI inputs to my PS3 and Toshiba upconverting dvd player. i cannot get none to work at all? plays fine with tuner settings. front M7's ,rears m7's,Cs2 center. Any help from Marantz fans or anyone would be greatly appreciated. thanks,Darryl:(

I hate to say this, but you gotta read the manual:( Their inputs have to be manually set up in the menu for each source. For example: for DVD, you may have to go in and tell it HDMI 1/digital etc. It's a little complicated by modern standards, but it does work just fine after you get it set up. Thanks for your help. i thought I had some basic knoledge of HT set up? I have been humbled by this set up. I was able to get my PS3 on HDMI-2 and DVD on HDMI-1 and they both go into Mitsubishi by HDMI out. This all works now .The only problem is that in my TV set up the three inputs are antenna one is over the air antenna and antenna two is my cable connection. The only HDMY out from the Marantz goes to one of the HDMI on TV and I have designated that AV. So my only guess is to hook up TV sound with a component cable to work? Thanks,Darryl

HDMI carries the sound, if that's what you're asking?

I cannot get the Marantz to give me sounds for TV stations. The only HDMI out is to the TV and it works for the DVD and PS3 which are both hooked up via HDMI inputs.I guess my only option for TV listening is to go the component cable route. Thanks,Darryl

Ah ok, I think I understand now. Yeah, you can use a toslink(digital optical audio cable), which would be preferred, or the good 'ol red and white.
