Where are these people when their fellow Americans need them?

Why not do a benefit for the TENS of millions loosing their homes and their jobs?

Don't get me wrong, but the people of Haiti were in a hopeless situation before the quake. True, they need the help and we should do something to help, but the best solution is to help them establish some form of coheisive government that respects it's people and encourages investment from business to help them sustain themselves going forward.

The ppl in Haiti need all the help they can get from all over the world, but I can't help but think the same thing. The disaster in New Orleans comes to mind.

Don't get me wrong, I think Haite needs all the help that they can get. Benefit albums and concerts are admirable provided the proceeds are used properly.

After 911, the Augusta, Ga. area forwarded over a million dollars to NYC, hand delivered by the mayor. What about the families of the Fort Hood shooter? Nothing. Sometimes PC and photo opts go a long way towards collecting funds.

I f$#%#****% hate that song! Haiti was a pretty screwed country before the quake, so it's REALLY SCREWED right now, and they need the aid. Our country(government at least) needs and has needed help to, but it's not a fair comparison to Haiti. Things were really bad in New Orleans after the hurricane, but probably not much worse than everyday life in Haiti. Let us all remember that America is the only country on earth where "poor" people are fat and have cell phones. Yeah, I said it.

It's quite likely that Haiti will actually end up a little better off when all this aid/support/money/food/medicine/housing is said and done. It will only last so long though. The government there is a joke, so maybe this will encourage some changes on that front. Comparatively speaking, the Dominican Republic is doing just fine. It's just going to take time, and changes for Haiti to get there. In summary, yep lets do the aid thing for Haiti, but it's gonna have to stop at some point to. We can't keep shoveling money into to it, otherwise, well...nevermind. I digress:)
