I am requesting help for speaker selection for a renovation. We will have a large room with cathedral ceilings, 16ft at peak, 12ft at sides and irregular back wall, 26ft on west, 34ft on east. West and East walls are exterior walls so they will be insulated. The North Wall has about 75% glass since it has the best view, yet there is about 30 inches on either side for in-wall speaker placement, none in center due to windows. I will place in-wall speakers on the sides, 3pairs for surrounds in the East and West walls, then a 1pair of main speakers on the North wall flanking the windows, then a center speaker mounted in a soffit where the motorized roll-down screen will be housed. I was considering the RC85i for all speakers, including a pair for the center in order to keep the same timbre. Is this good? I will place the speakers at 88 inches above the floor and aim tweeters downwards towards listeners for the front speakers, then aim the side/rear speaker tweeters upwards to lose the directionality. Subwoofer will be fabricated to occupy an area along the South wall located about 10 feet from the West wall. I have pre-wired the whole room to cover everything I mentioned above, then doubled them up for future bi-wiring or backup if a wire goes bad. I also wired a pair of boxes low down to hook up just a pair of tower speakers (my ancient but accurate JBL Monitors) for audio only. Lastly, unrelated, I traced wires for XLR cabling for use with powered Mackies in order to preserve the home theatre speakers during parties.
