Surrounds to buy - FXIA4's or something else?

Good day people, I had made a thread asking for help on a center channel and surrounds but all the replys just gave me advice on a center channel. I have that figured out and am gonna go with a CSIA5 if I can find one or get a CSIA6.

But now I need to get surrounds and I found the FXIA4 to be an intriguing speaker. They are a bit pricey but seem like a really nice speaker and sound awesome. Obviously I heard them set up as front speakers and not surrounds. Are these a bit overkill for surrounds? Any advice would be great.

Also I am running a Pioneer VSX-9140 and have the RTI10's as my front speakers. I have heard from several people that I should bi-amp these speakers as it brings out the woofers. I have a seperate subwoofer (PSW111) hooked up. So is it necessary to bi-amp these? The receiver is a 7.1 and I will probably never set up 7 speakers so I might do it just because of that reason but I am curious if it is really necessary or if it is just a waste of speaker cable.

I appreciate the feedback in advance guys.

I bought a set of FXiA6, and a set of FXiA4 to use as surrounds for a 7.1 system. They seem to be very good speakers for the purpose. I've had a thread on here for a week or so, and have not gotten any input about them.

    Also another thread about A6's

I'm wondering if anyone else has these speakers. Best of luck with your system.

You could look at the older line of surrounds like the Polk F/X500. I had them once and they sound nice also. By the way. What are you planning on bi-amping your speakers with and was it the towers you were planning on biamping? I have biamped with recievers my rti150's and rtia9's with no difference. The amps in recievers to be honest suck so biamping wont help. But if you have external amps then you will notice more bass. I biamped with an emotiva xpa-5 running my front sound stage. It made some difference but not as much as the xpa-2 did. The xpa-2 is will bring out the bass and detail in your speakers. I then upgraded to the xpa-1 monoblocks and it was like being at a concert it would go so loud but clean and the bass was awesome.

The bi-amping question has been asked a lot around here. It seems that most people don't hear a difference from bi-amping. I agree witth selkec that you can look for a good set of FX500's. The FX1000's are a bit more rare. As you go up in price, you're likely to hear more detail and nuances in the surround tracks than with a lower-end rear speaker.

    No and No.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Ya I was thinking of bi-amping the towers, but I doubt I will hear a difference so I think I will just save the speaker wire.

I will check out the F/X500's. What is the price range of these speakers?

Do you consider the FXiA6's a lower end speaker?
