Does anyone have a feel for what difference may be noticed between LSi9's and a sub and LSi15's and a sub, with respect to bass and imaging? The sub in question is an 18" JBL with variable crossover frequency in the active x/o. Thanks.

I own both 9's and 15's and didn't notice an improvement with the 15's over the 9's with a good sub. 9's are obviously less expensive, but figure in the price of some good speaker stands for them.

I think that the 9's have considerably more mid bass impact, espescially if you can by amp them. This is not always a good thing, as my wife will attest to when I am listening at night.

Thank you all! It sounds like the 9's are an even to better-than-even bet. A question on bi-amping them - I have a 200 w/ch Adcom GFA-555 and a 60 w/ch Adcom GFA-535. I'm assuming 60 w/ch (8 ohm rating) would be sufficient for the high side, which according to literature is crossed over at 2.4kHz?
Also, since I'm running an active x/o for my existing mains/sub biamp system, is a Y-cord out of the x/o a valid way to get the high-side signal to both amps for the 9's? Thanks again.
p.s. lumpy, no worries here, my wife's a bass player. That's how we blew up a good Mission bookshelf years ago, before we had an in-home bass rig ;-)
