Hi folks......
New hear and honestly have been a die hard vintage Yamaha speaker guy but am putting together a surround system for my brother in-law. Have felt that Polk would make him a quality system for sound:)
Here is what I have, rears will be LS50's, mains will be LS70's. Receiver will be Yamaha RX-V2500 @ 130w/channel x7. Sub is M&K V-75 for starters and may double that.
Basement set up, carpeted and walls are nicely softened. Any suggestions on a CENTER CHANNEL older or newer model. I am wishing to keep drivers as much alike as possible.
Also, I have a blown mid from the LS70, model MW8100 and am awaiting a reply from Polk parts, any suggestions here??
Thanks much
Karl

CS2 would be reall good one i have heard it on a demo in a store very nice, i requested the guy at the store to match it with another brand, though it was not a timbre match, but it did not sound bad at all.

Hey thanks Jacob for your opinion/suggestion. The Yamaha receiver has an equalizer built in during set up and can often match speakers quite nicely that have a slightly different sound. I will look into this model as your suggestion...........

Although the CS2 is a very good center, a better match would be the CS350LS, one of the best CC Polk made IMO. You wont find one new but you can find them on here occasionaly and ebay. Good Luck.

Looks like a great vintage setup
I would compare drivers to some of the VINTAGE centers. In case you have not found the specifications for your brother's speakers, here is the links:
http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/recent/ls70/
http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/ls50/
They have the SL6000 Dynamic Balance 1" trilaminate dome tweeter.
If you can find one, I would go with the CS350, if you have room or in newer models, the CSi5. They both 'dig deep' like the LS70, and have the same or similar tweeter.

hehe..looks like Knuckle head had the same idea..
(I was busy pasting linkies)
Good luck with your setup -

That is a model that I had interest in and thought might be closest to matching these other speakers. I will have to scour the forum classifieds and ebay for possibilities, thanks for your valued input.

Seems you guys are in agreement, now I just need to get lucky and find a driver MW8100 for my LS70! Recently acquired and now realize I have a failing driver.
Thanks for the links and the courteous help..........

Good find, I emailed the seller asking about possible 8100's just in case. Thanks for the tip as it may pay off!
