iPhone internet video issues

I've been having an issue with my iPhone that I think just started recently. YouTube and iTunes videos work fine, but with videos online I'm getting a bunch or garbled text instead of a playing video clip.
I've got a site that I've always been able to load video from that isn't working for me, and no other sites appear to be working either. Can someone else with an iphone check something for me? Go to the Indianapolis Colts website on your phone, you should get the mobile site, on the menu on the left the bottom option should be video, select that, Just try playing any video you see there and tell me if it works for you.
That's the only site I can think of off-hand that I know should work on the phone, but am getting the garbled text instead of a video.
I am jailbroken, so that could be an issue, but want to make sure it's not the sites I'm visiting before I start troubleshooting my phone.
Thanks

Works fine for me on my iPhone 3G (jailbroken), it immediately starts loading a movie.
Is your iPhone jailbroken?
If this were a PC, my guess would be that the extension .mp4 got associated with something other than the video player, and so Safari doesn't open them in the video player but rather as a normal webpage. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Yep it's jailbroken, it has to be something I've done in the last few days because it was working fine before...
Oh well, at least I know it's the phone -
I had this happen on my ipod tough; turns out it was a safari setting that i hit accidently while clearing my cache/history/etc... Make sure all the sliders are to the "on" position.

I checked all that, I'm just gonna do a restore and then re-jailbreak my phone and hope that does the trick.

Easiest thing to do anyway without hours of research and tinkering...

I did a restore and it's working fine now. Now I get to spend the next hour configuring my phone again...

I was just able to recreate the issue, looks like mxtube is the culprit

Good to know.
Why arent you using the backup/restore app from cydia? Use to take me 10 mins with the tap of a button...

I've never heard of it. Rock has a cool feature where it can save your package install details on their server, problem is at the time I didn't know what was causing the issue and didn't know which version to restore to.

AptBackup is the package on Cydia; basically works the same way the Rock built-in one does. IT saves the names of all the packages you have installed, and just reinstalls them from scratch. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

What he said ^^^^
Had forgot the name if it and not using iPhone anymore. It does come in handy for sure.

Pauly, curious what you found to replace the iPhone that you like better? I should have my google phone in the mail today, it's not intended as a replacement as one is going to be ties to my work number, but I'll certainly be comparing the two to determine which one I carry all the time

Nothing that i like better yet. My home button stopped working which almost makes it usless. Im debating getting the N1 or the G1. I dont want to get locked down on a contract so i would have to drop 540.00 for the N1 or buy my buddies G1 when he gets his N1. Im on the old school my fav with unlimted data/text. So tax tag and title out the door my bill is 70.00.
Im just really digging Android. The iPhone was fun for a year but it got boring for me. I always like the new and better **** when it comes to phones.
I suggest you get Google Voice and just forward everything to that number and use one phone and sell your iPhone

We'll see how the Nexus One is before I do anything. My friend has a Droid phone on Verizon and to be honest I don't like it as much as the iPhone. There are certainly some cool aspects, but overall it just doesn't feel as responsive as the iPhone.
I 'want' to like the Nexus more just because of my natural bias against Apple products, but we'll see what happens when it arives today, FedEx shows out for delivery! -
Let me know what you think. I'll be getting my tax return next month and still on the fence....
