Replacement tweeter for LS70

The tweeter in one of my LS70s is shot. Polk wants $80 plus shipping for a replacement SL6000. Does anyone know where I can track one of these down? Or, does anyone have a recommendation for a good non-Polk replacement?

Either through Polk or Ebay, or someone on here. I would not put a non-polk replacement in a speaker as good as the LS-70. They were designed with the Sl-6000 in mind, i'd keep it that way.

Did you mention that you were on Club Polk when you talked to them? That's good for a discount. :)

$80 is a fairly small investment (at least in my eyes) to keep a speaker of that caliber in good working order.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

No, I didn't think to mention that I'm a Club Polk member. I'll give it a try, but still hoping to find one either here or on Ebay (though no luck so far on that front). Thanks for your reply.

Start a WTB thread in the Flea Market, might luck out. I don't remember what the percentage off is through Polk, though... i want to say 20%, but that may be high.

If you give up, let me know as long as you aren't all the way across the country from me, i'll take them. :D

The other thing to ask Polk is whether the replacement is a trilaminate like the original. If not, you would probably not want different tweeter types in each speaker.

You may be able to find one through the FM.
