NAD vs Yamaha

So I've been listening to the new gear for a week now and I thought I would post an update.
What can I say . . . all I have done for the last week is ignore all of the responsibilities of my life and daydream all day long of coming home and listening to the new rig.
I have re-discovered and heard so much more from my music collection than I ever have before. The NAD is powerful and elegant all at once. It's amazing the control it exhibits over the RTi8's (although they are very efficient at 90 dB). There seems to be endless amounts of headroom and the more I listen the more it begs me to TURN IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alas reality (and my wife) set in and I reel in the volume. It really doesn't matter though, it is marvelously dynamic and musical at any volume.
Speaking of my wife, I think she secretly likes the new rig. Her first words upon playing Steely Dan's Alive in America were, "Hey! We're in the audience!". And this is coming from a die-hard fan who has seen Steely Dan numerous times in concert.
There is so much detail and life to my music again . . . I would swear that I can identify the manufacturer and model of the drumsticks that Lenny White uses on RTF's Romantic Warrior (Vic Firth 5B with nylon tips). I shudder at the thought of listening to anything from A Perfect Circle anymore, Thomas from Mer De Norms is simply haunting.
And I get all this from my Apple TV loaded with mp3's (wish I would have ripped it all in lossless now).
I think I need an SACD source . . . . -
Congrats Bub, there's nothing like looking forward to getting home to sit in front of the rig and listen for hours with a big grin on your face.
