I know this company/guy is a big topic of debate/flame wars...but figured I would ask.

http://www.angelfire.com/biz/bizzyb/HIBACHI.html

Yup yup, tube audio design. His stuff seems marked up 1000%. He's got a pair of monoblocks for $299+45 shipping right now however....Any good? or pure crap like the 'direct coupled crossoverless b&w wannabe center channel'?

And... GO!

There are some discussions on Agon regarding this amp. That's the first time I heard of Hibachi as an Amp. Grill yes, amp no

I read the description and I'd stay away. It sounds like a cheap class D type plate amp used in cheap sub's.

The specs are pure BS and most of the bolded stuff I have never heard of before.

    H9

P.s. Also come on...................$1999 pr. reduced to $299?????? That tells you all you need to know right there.

I remember he did the same thing with that TAD center channel, it was like $600 and he dumped it to like $40!

The title and all specs are for the Hibachi II amp, then when you click to order, you get this description:
Brand New 200W Hibachi Mono Block Amplifier Pairs.
Plane Jane version (no internal Hibachi II upgrades).
No in home trial period at this price!
Faint background hum possible - not horrible - just faint.
Brand new in factory sealed cartons.
    30-Day Limited Warranty

30 day warranty, and he only charges $35 for each warranty repair! At least he takes extreme care when damaging the finish of the units:
Minor cosmetic flaws, a spec of dust in the paint, a very light clear coat scratch or hard to see tiny corner edge chip are not covered. Hand made with extreme care by the designer.
