Replacement Xover
Does anyone know if Polk will send out a replacement Xover board to replace a broken one?
Would like to remove the existing components and put on a new board, maybe even upgrading caps and resistors along the way.

I believe they only sell completed boards.
What broke exactly? Did the board crack, did you break a lead/trace?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
The board has been mis-handled and broken in two.
So I figure the cheapest fix would be a bare board then swap out components.Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,

Give them a call and see what they can do for you.
What model speaker is this?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
They are the LS80i inwall with an exposed crossover board.
The board is kinda half-moon shaped to follow the speaker frame.
Is there the possibility of just building another crossover using a generic board based on schematics of the unit? Then mount the replacement board away from the speaker frame?
Thanks for the help!Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,

I would agree here. I would get the completed XO and if you're are unhappy with the sound, start pulling the caps and resistors off. I think it would be more of a hassle starting from scratch.Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

No doubt, buying completed boards is the way to go.
The budget here is been blown months back, so I'm looking for the cheap way out on a decent set of speakers.
Pretty much have more time than I know what to do with at the moment anyhow!Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,

If you have the time and know a bit about XO's....I say get the schematics and then do some research - let us know if you find anything closeLiving Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

These are the LC80i, not an LS. My damned forever occurring mistake.Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,

Yep, been spending some time reading. Will have to check Polk for a schematic and price on the replacement, then determine if all the hassle adds up.
Was hoping if the experienced builders knew if it's even feasible to attempt a build from scratch?Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,

Agree 100%.
It can be done, but it's not going to be that easy or as clean if you were to get the replacement board.Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

It should be optically possible to see where all the broken traces are and what needs to be connected and what not to. If the board is double sided it should still be possible but will take a little more time - just do one side at a time and be patient and meticulous.
Thanks, will look closely and see if a repair is possible for me to do.

Are these the ones that were listed on eBay? If so, how much did they end up going for? Last time I looked they were $15 or so each. Pretty good deal if you can fix them.

Yep, that was the idea.
Was on a job interview this afternoon and couldn't get in front of a computer to grab a pair. Missed opportunity! Maybe next time!Parasound C1, T3, HCA-3500, HCA-2205A, P/DD1550, Pioneer DV-79avi, Oppo BDP-83, WD Media Server W/HDD,
