Monitor 10 questions

Some 10's I see have the wood on the front that is flat, level with the baffle. And then mine are angled around the baffle. Are mine the regular 10's and the others 10B's? Also mine do not have the fuse for the tweets on the back like some I have seen do. Do just the A or B series have the fuses?

There are a couple of different versions, but if yours look like these and have no fuse on the back I am pretty sure they are 10B's:

    Thanks guys!

Why did they do away with the fuses on the back? And what are the differences between regular 10's and B's? Different drivers?

they did away with the fuse on the back by replacing it with a polyswitch in the crossover circuit. The "Rev" and Series II Monitor 10's have the MW6503 while the earlier versions had the MW6501(at least according to the wiring diagrams) while the VERY first version, refered to as the "Model 10" and some of the Monitor 10A's had the MW6500 drivers.
It gets abit confusing in that there are mixes of cabinets and crossovers. IDK abou the Monitor 10's, but in the Monitor 7's the bevel faced cabinets are refered to as 7c's.

    What does your crossover S/N say? "10 ####" or "10B ####"

I have two pairs of 10b's. I have a post on another thread with a couple pics. I have both early and late 10bs. The early set (mine at least) has the silverdome tweeter, fuse above the binding posts, and flat fronts. The other set is later (about '87?) and has the angled front trim and the poly switch....same tweeter.

I like the later set, but only because they look better.
