Hey guys
Little bass issue or lack of it i suppose. When i play music through my Ps3 Via USB stick, the bass is lacking and not the usually tight bass you here. The Ps3 has the option to set it as multi output through 5 speakers. However the receiver only showing 2 speakers.
Anyway currently have RM75s as 5.1 and PSW10 as the sub. I don't know but my subwoofer isn't using a sub cable but basic red and white 2m/m attahced to 2m to 1m to sub out lol, would it help my bass output if i use a sub cable?
Any help is good!.

also what mode do you have your AVR set. there is a 2 channel setting for Yammy's. Also the yammy will detect too what is coming through the signal. if your playing a normal CD which is recorded for 2 channel even if you have the settings to play through all the speakers such as on the yammy 7 channel surround, it will only show 2 speakers on the front. I know from my experience setting the source, in my case an XBox 360 to do multichannel still had regular cd's to play in 2 channel unless I changed my AVR to a 7 channel surround which was just a matrix mix of 2 channel through my 5.1 system.
However, I always did have bass coming through. Do you know how you have the AVR set for LFE, bass signals? what do you have the sub out set for in the AVR for level? -
Basic functionality test for multichannel sound working/not working:
1. Make sure the receiver is not set to Stereo mode, don't use any auto-detect/autosurround type functions, and specifically enable a multichannel mode such as Dolby Pro Logic II Music mode.
2. Play the music using the the USB stick with the PS3.
3. If sound is not also heard from the center channel, then the configuration problem is with the PS3. (Even analog RCA connections to a receiver will matrix sound into the center channel when using Dolby Pro Logic II music mode.)
Note: the reason for disabling any auto-detect/autosurround modes is that some receivers will detect 2-channel audio and auto-switch to a stereo only mode. -
Well setup is like this
PS3-->AVR-->T.V Via HDMI.
The sound and bass of the PSW10 works fine when watching blu-rays, its just music thats is playing from the USB stick the bass sounds plain and not there. also i'm suing the Plain red and white thin cables to connect my subwoofer lol.
Also the only auto detect i've done is to see what sound sources my AVR can handle or output. This was done in the PS3 sound settings.
In addition to that i hear people have there sub volume at the 12'o clock position and then tuned in the AVR. whilte i had mine roughly at 9-10' o clock position.
hopefully i provided enough info.....i know the PSw10 is not that powerful but my room or play room is roughly 100 feet. -
Don't know about your Yamaha, but my Denon has the option of setting the sub to LFE or LFE + Main.
Since the LFE is only used for video sources (movies and some tv shows) it could be that this is your problem.
The LFE + Main setting sends all low frequency signals to the sub, controlled by the amp's crossover setting. This is the setting that you need.
Also be sure that you have the sub's crossover setting set to Max, letting the amp control the frequency.Home Theater

You are using RCA imput to the sub so you should set the sub to off in the recievers manual set up settings. set the crossover on the sub to the 12 oclock position which should be around 80Hz. You will also want to set your speakers to large in the same manual set up menue for your receiver.
this will send the full audio signal to your sub and your speakers and the sub's crossove will filter out all frequencies above 80Hz.pop

You are probably right that the LFE only works for movies and such. And i always thought LFE was for everything haha. Anyway my setup is a Basic RM75 system with PS10. So right now i have the RM75's set to Small and my Corssover for the subwoofer set all the way to 160Hz, and Receiver is set to 120Hz for the LFE Effect.
Will see what happens.....i'm replacing the cheap Red and White RCA's with a Y-Adapter and a RG6/U Subwoofer cable.
