rtia7 as next upgrade in future
Right now, I like what I have and I'm content with all my components.... But, I now find myself listening more to music than I have ever had before. Yes, I like my Monitor 70 fronts, especially bi-amped off the Newcastle A-965, but from what I've read the A7s would add more to music listening and I've been looking at the refurbs on ebay. I guess I would also have to change out the CS2 center (really have no gripes with it). The easiest thing to would be to move the 70s to the side surrounds and leave m30s as the back, but that seems to be a waste of a very good speaker and I'd rather make them a gift to a family member.
Would the m30s still hold up well with the A7s as sides and backs? I like them fine for HT with the m70s... Does anyone see any advantage of pushing the m70s to the sides?
I know a sub is an important upgrade, but really, the psw505 gives me enough for my 20 x 20 room (unless I just don't know what I'm missing).

The A7's are a considerable step up. Sell the m70's to finance an amp or a new center. As far as the sub goes, yep, you don't know what your missing.HT SYSTEM-

I think the A7's might be it then. Going by what is written about them here, I pretty much trust people's opinion about them and I've been using this forum for my guidance ever since I stumbled on it.As far as the sub goes, yep, you don't know what your missing.
Yeah, that's what I keep reading.... I know if I ask "which sub?", I will get either SVS, or Hu. That may be a further down the road game plan.
As far as an amp, I kind of feel the Newcastle A-965 does the job. Would the A7's need more? I guess I could add a nice two channel to it to run the fronts and let it handle the rest.
I dread selling electronic gear in this area. I would opt for local pick-up, but I don't think the market is very strong here. Shipping speakers that size seems like a pretty big project.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

I have thought about the lsi's also, but I didn't know how much different they would be musically.... I thought the a7's would have an improved tweeter over the monitor 70's and dig lower. I guess I've got some saving to do.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

If the 505 will be okay for them then that helps... I have been checking out the 15's. Wish I had known music would start getting critical again.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

I am a tinkering RTI A7 owner. Very soon I expect to have the answer to the recurring edgy brightness I, along w/others, have experienced. My $ is on the XO.
