That sounds pretty insane...take on Oppo player shove it in a high end looking Lexicon case and charge more that 4 times for it?

    That makes sense to me?????

What a weird thing to even bother to review when there are REAL high end players out there that do cost thousands of dollars and are probably better than the 'ol Oppo!

I keep wanting to write Oppah and break a few dishes every time I even hear that name...break out the Ouzo and let's dance! Oppo, Oppah, Oppo, Oppah.....!!

+1 That is the same thing I was thinking. The Chinese would do the same thing, but charge 4 times less. ;)

Seriously, to me, it's hard to believe anyone could have the money to sell a BR player, and not think someone would take a critical look at it.

I haven't seen too many high end BD players on the market yet. Which ones are better than the Oppo?

Marantz has a few high dollar BDP's and McIntosh should be releasing one soon.

    MVP881BR Universal A/V Player
The new MVP881BR Universal A/V Player from McIntosh is a high performance Blu-ray player with web-enabled features that excels at playing SACD and DVD Audio discs as well as standard CD’s and DVD’s.
    PRICE UNKNOWN!

Not all Blu-rays are equal but the Denon and the Marantz are Universal beasts (as is the McIntosh in all probabilty) that make an Oppo, structurally, look like a toy.

For Picture and Hi-Rez sound not many are better than the BDP-83.
