I have the SDA's 1.2,something like that. I purchase them in 1988,the problem I'm having is,the tweeters keep shutting down, just with moderate volume levels. I have upgraded my tweeters, they haven't really been broken in yet. I use to live in an apartment, therefore I didn't play them very much, after a few calls from the landlord :(Now I live in a house(thank you Jesus)I'm going to try to post pictures of my system and you guys can give me an idea what's going on with my poly switches.

2 carver mono block or blocs, however ever spell it :) The silver 7 T
DSW PRO400
Speaker cable MIT Terminater 400, you guys will see the rest in the pictures.

Guys,I know it looks kinda of junkie,i'm always moving things around,no WAF

One day I'll be neat like my man Ted, A.K.A reeltrouble

Most likely,, they are getting old and need to be replaced or removed--your call. Me,, I prefer mine replaced with a .5 ohm resistor. YMMV.

    Really nice system.

Have you changed anything in sync with the problem arising? I assume that you're using an A1 SDA interconnect.

I've read elsewhere about Poly switches failing with age. I've also heard that Polk customer service may be able to send you replacements free of charge if you choose to go that way.

I prefer George D's solution. Or, since the SDAs don't really work anymore, you could just karma them to me ;)

Poly switches are going bad. Jump them or replace them or put a resistor like GD said. How are the mono's working for you? I assume you are using the AI-1 cable?

They are working great,I have the two, tied together. I only have had to send them for repair once, back in 1992.
