Hi all. I recently picked up a DBX BX-3 amp. It's a 4-channel amp that can be bridged into 3 channels or two. I presume that when in bridegd mode it is not common-ground (I seem to remember that the term "BTL" meant not common-ground). After looking through the threads and schematic regarding making up the cable, all the references are to the pin/blade configuration. Does this apply to my blade/blade also? Obviously I'm not going to hook then up 'til I'm squared away, but I'm itching to do so, I've never really "opened 'em up", but with this amp I really want to 'see what it'll do'. What do you experts say?

No blade/blade speakers can be hooked up to non common ground amps. Even with the AI-1 style IC. Make sure what you have (amp) is common ground even in stereo mode. Some are dual mono. BTW, I am not an expert, I didn't even stay in a Holliday Inn Express last night.

The issue here is it is not common ground if it is run in 2 channel mode. If it is run in its 4 channel mode, it would be, but I could only run two of the channels (only 125 wpc, 2 channel BTL is 300 wpc.). In other words, It can't be done in 2 channel mode, period? FUDGE!

Bridged amps cannot be common-ground, and are therefore not compatible with blade/blade SDAs.

    Best to verify that...
