Dr. Spec are you referring to the red off set glow in the bright red scences in most movies????? It sort of bleeds out from the nose, lips and tails lights. I always thought that was from my projector. I have done alot of tweaking with the picture settings and it helps. If so - then ya my Denon must be the colpret.

When he rescues Whistler, look at all the edges of the images when the red light is covering everything. Especially his leather coat jacket around the collar. All jagged, with tiny horizontal lines through everything. Ditto for the tail lights and the tunnel lights - jagged with lines and the color bleeds out all over.

The U-571 opener is the same way. After the red light goes out, the PQ improves like 20 fold - it's really awful.

Here are all the players with and without the bug:

Look at the images in this link. They all show the bug pretty well. The trademark jagged edges with horizontal lines. You will see the same thing on those scenes in Blade II.

Aside from the bug - the Denon PQ IS great. And clearly, the bug afflicts many high end players - no manufacturer is immune it seems. Denon was one of the first to publicly admit the bug's existence and has been pretty open about trying to fix it.
