I have a pair of RTiA9's and use my Pioneer Elite Receiver as a pre to my Emotiva XPA-2 for fronts on my home theater. I also use the RTiA9's for 2 ch music and run them with my Sansui G7500 Receiver. My Sansui doesn't like to run if the speakers are also connected to the Emo (when its off). Can someone suggest a quality speaker switch device that would handle my needs? One that can handle the power of the Emo and not loose sound quality...thanks!

most speaker switchs do the opposite. multiple sets of speakers, from one amp. not sure if there is such a thing as an upstream (multiple amp) switcher.

I haven't had my coffee yet but....IF I understand correctly, I did basically the same thing using a Crown OC 150 and Yamaha 5.1 surround processor to get the same effect.
    You might check into it.
You can get the Crown info directly from the Crown discontinued products site.

Why not get a 2 channel pre with HT bypass and use the EMO amp for both applications?

    No coffee either but...
If he wants to power a single set of speakers from two different sources I have a similar set up for my display which is a monitor. I use a niles speaker switch in between an integrated amp and the speakers. Then if I want to incorporate the same speakers into the surround the switch connects them to my receiver.

    Model number is Niles ABS-1.

You're welcome! That switch works very well for me. It automatically detects input and switches the source. Niles has some nice stuff. Good Luck.
