Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone here is using the zone 2 feature on their receiver. I'm using it on my Denon AVR-2805 and everything works great until I try to change the input to my digital coaxial. For some reason I can't get any sound out of my speakers...

Any ideas, maybe a setting that I'm missing?

Thanks,

Jerry

Hmm... I just flipped through the manual, looks like it says that digital output does not get sent to Zone 2... Maybe that's why it doesn't work... Then again, maybe I'm misreading it and have something setup wrong. Can anyone confirm if a digital signal can be sent to Zone 2?

Looks like it can't, page 67 says it all in that note.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Should have checked the manual sooner. Anyway, thanks guys. Guess I'll have to stick to an anolog input for Zone 2.

NP, I may be wrong, but that is what I gathered from reading the manual.

Yeah, I understood the same thing. So it's confirmed, unless someone else tells us otherwise.:)

Unfortunately, most receivers skimp out on this feature.

When using a digital source, I have to select 'downmix" as my source. It allows me to play music in a 2nd area, but the same thing must be playing in my main listening area.

That threw me at first with my denon 1082. I run both rca (analog) and coax(digital) out of the sources so you can listen to anything. It took a few reads of their criptic manual to figure it out though. Looks like you got working ok now.
