Need reviews from some users regarding which rears to go with. We have RTiA5's and a CSiA6 center. Room size is 15Wx25L. TV is located on the 15W wall so speakers face the rear wall 25' away. Wondering if the way things are set up and the associated room dimension negates the FXiA6 speakers.

actually i have relativelly the same scenario, my room is 18X28 and i have the RTIA9 and CSi A6 as fronts, seating is the middle of the room, my side surrounds are the FXi A4, and my rear are the A1, the setup is great , i opted for the A1 as rear surround as the seating is 14' away and directional sound is needed.

btw u need 7.1 surround in this room or u will feel alot of audio voids.

    madnod,

thanks for the info. dude, how big is your tv. 14' away seems a long way from the tv. i have a 46 sony and sit about 11' away. i was hoping to start with 5.1. if i put the rears just behind the seating area, where would the voids be. don't think the wife will green lite a 7.1 config. thanks

i have a 52A650 and the plan is to go for a 165" projector screen once the 3-D market takeoff.

there will be no void with the the speakers behind the couch, but big rooms required large amount of speakers, and believe me a 7.1 setup that has a space to breath is a kick as HT, since speakers will have enough space to effectively create the sound field rather than being jammed next to each other or simply u sitting next to them , u will realize that once u have it/ try it.

u need 2 subs in this room at least, i currently have one DSW PRO 600 and once i finish my Projector upgrade a second one will be added.

    madnod,
do you think a 12" Hsu will suffice. it says it is good for huge rooms.

it might, but 2 subs beside providing more power they offer better BASS distribution within the room, so that there will be less BASS dead spots, this is usually very important for the other seats within the room (beside the main seat) to have a good watching experience, and in a large room the seats are many.

it's better to buy the best sub u can get (has lower extension) and in the future u can add an another one, since once u buy a sub u can't make it go lower but adding a second sub will increase the BASS power within a room. so go for quality rather than power (a good sub will have a decent power anyway)
