Good Job Polk Direct

Had ordered the new surrounds on Jan 6 (on line) and hadn't heard anything beyond acknowledgement since. Sent an email Sunday evening to inquire and found a response in my in-box after work Monday saying there had been an issue with my card.

Not likely.

I called the Polk Direct sales line after dinner Mon and, coincidently, got thru to the same great person who took my order for the A7s last month. She checked out my account and couldn't find any reason for the earlier email - got a green lite and gave me my order number advising I call Polk in the morning to confirm all was OK. Thanks, Dana.

So Tues morning I call Toni at Polk and she explains that in fact there had been an internal "back order" hold placed on the original order - no problem with the card. She said this would be discussed in their quality service meeting same day.

But here's the really good part. She then expedited my (3 speaker) order to arrive here within 3 days - that's Vista, CA, to Tampa, FL.

Kudos to Polk for their products AND service! Great job Toni and Dana!

At the risk of hijacking my own thread ... I noticed you listed an Onkyo AVR in your sig.

Question: Just had to "clear" my new SR707 last nite. It's been in sercvice since Saturday with no issues and I've no idea what happened. (Sympton was no audio except Pure Audio or Direct from CD player only.)

The "reboot" worked and I just needed to reset everything, still ... ever happen to you with your Onkyo?

At the risk of allowing you to hijack your own thread, no I have had zero issues with my 806 since the day I turned it on. It really is a quality unit and besides the fact that they took out the Burr Brown DAC's and the amp section isn't as strong as it's predecessor (the 805) I don't regret buying it one bit. Very pleased, and will buy Onk again when this one needs to be replaced.

I've had that happen with a 605. Power outages and believe it our not static electricity...I sent a shock through the 605 and had to reboot it.....it's not an unusual thing but it's not that common either. I would imagine you're under warranty still.

Actually on my unit all AUDIO went out not just Pure or Direct audio...? Did you mess with the remote speakers (source 2 by any chance).

I would not worry about it unless it happens again!

Thanks for the input. We live in the Tampa Bay area and with it being so cold it's possible we had a power outage sometime yesterday.

And since this is really meant to be a "good job" thread, my hats off to the Onkyo phone help team that got me going again.

Holy crap, a positive comment about Onkyo's CS?? *Hides under desk and curls up in fetal position* I love my Onk, but their one downfall has always been there CS. Maybe the tides, they are a changin, lol.

    +1,

I've NEVER gotten a reply via Onkyo email! The only way to get them is to call...and I hope you're ready to wait 20-30 minutes there and get someone who knows less than you!

Guess I was the lucky one. Phoned in. Got someone named Gary. Told him what was going on. He was back in a few minutes and walked me thru the reboot process. Ten minutes tops.

However, their 'on hold' music was awful!
