I posted this poll on m.yomnia, but it is still more annoying to use than if it were a true mobile version.Ludicrous gibs!

CP makes my BB crash...:(
-
I'm able to navigate okay on my iPhone, but a mobile version would be nice.
-
Getting around on it on my iphone works pretty nice, never had an issue. So I would have to say, nah..

Yes. CP is much slower on my Droid than most other web sites I visit."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I know that it works on the phones without being a "mobile" website. Considering I posted the poll on my phone while sitting in the hotel bar.... But, it's really nice when you go to a site, and it magically reformats itself for your phone . It seems to take forever to load all the pictures that actually make up this site.Ludicrous gibs!

Who the hell would vote no for this, even if you don't have a mobile device, why would you not wanna see our forum improve? Does anyone thunk it would actually be a detriment to CP?

I don't see how that would be any different from posting when at your home computer--nothing else to do at home? No places to go? Nobody to talk to?
Sometimes I find myself in situations where I can't do much else but wait (like in the Proctologist's waiting room, waiting in line, waiting on the wife while she tries on clothes at the store, etc.) where checking out the latest posts is more fun to do than to stare at all the faces of the other people (in the Drs. office) and knowing what will likely happen to them in the very near future :eek:____________________

I voted no, because on another forum i'm on, i swear 50%+ of the posts are made from phones. Needless to say, i can't read half of the damn things, and everyone just sounds like a bunch of blathering idiots.
I'll vote yes only if every single person that posts from their phone promises not to use stupid abbreviations, and if i can't tell that you're posting from a phone.
(lol i dnt rly no wut ur tlkng abut)
Wow... that's the most depressing 4,000th post ever.
But really, i'm just grumpy. I don't really care if it happens or not. I just voted no because of the above reason.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

A mobile version? No, sorry. Bad idea.
Reason 1: resources. Mobile versions are a whole new copy of a forum running at the same time as the regular forum and replicating. They don't necessarily make things dynamic. They tax bandwidth as well and degrade performance for both the full version and the mobile version. I don't think it would be in Polk Audio's best interests nor would it benefit them much at all. I mean, it's nice to think that this place is about "us" but it really isn't. Ultimately, it's a massive marketing tool for Polk Audio. The minute it starts sucking down more revenue than it's generating, it's days are numbered. This place ain't broke, don't fix it.
That brings me to reason 2: New technology, "improvements" in the name of progress, however you want to rationalize it, if you can't stand to be away from this forum so much so that you need to have it on your phone then really, take a hard look at your life and ask yourself, how did it come to this?
I can read this forum fine on the phones I have. I use an Opera browser and I can view it in either full page or mobile page. I hate mobile views, they suck. But, at the same time, if I'm not near a computer at home or work and I'm not bored, this place doesn't even enter my mind. Then again, most times when I am bored, this place doesn't offer that much of a reprieve. Yeah, I don't need a mobile version.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -
Frankly...Club Polk isn't a destination for people on the go unless you're a member of the forum who just has to read/post from your phone.
There is no good answer to the question: Why?
So there's no real reason to do it if it's going to cost any money to implement. If it wouldn't cost anything (it will), then I could see doing it for the hell of it.
