Hey Guys,

I got an Epson 8100 in mint condition with exactly 56 hours and 33 minutes of use. This unit throws an amazing picture. I am selling it to fund an upgrade into the high-end JVC line of projectors. This unit has made certain that I will never own another traditional television ever again.

Yes, I did just purchase this unit. It's only about a month and a half old.

I'm asking $950 shipped to the lower 48. Check or M.O. is preferred, but we can work out something with Paypal as well.

Pictures will come later. I'm sitting in Trusts and Estates right now . . .

Regards,

Mike

Going all out now huh, which JVC you thinking? I would suggest RS10 or RS15 at least.

Yeah, I got the go ahead from the girl who is thoroughly stoked by the fact that she can now watch Gossip Girl in 1080P HD. Oh wait correction, she likes the 100 inch screen because she can now see the girls' hair styles better.

Very true. I went from a projector with 110" screen back down to a Pioneer plasma thinking I would be satisfied. Now the Plasma is getting replaced with the JVC RS20 and I'll never look back again.

Oh the temptation--now I have to decide whether to buy a $350 replacement lamp for my 720p Marantz PJ, or put the money towards this.
Ah its hopeless, the wife will probably never go for it. :(

Congrats to both. That's a sweet deal. :)

My wife started lecturing me as soon as she saw the pics on my screen, so I probably wouldn't have been able to talk her into it anyway.:( Especially since the last one I bought she gave me a resounding "NO" but I bought it anyway ;).

Thanks for the heads up on it. I probably wouldn't have seen it without the PM. :D

I sent a PM to Rob today because he mentioned getting a less expensive screen than that Carada you have (nice screens, just don't want to drop around $700+ on one at this point) some weeks back when we were talking about that other Epson Best Buy was unloading.

I'm gonna have a ton of questions for sure. Probably not going to go all out on the theater setting like you and Rob have for a while, though.

Almost done with that training stuff? Haven't kicked it on XBL for a couple weeks now.

Sherard turned me on to Carada. I love my 100" screen.l It went together with ease as is built like a tank.

Returned your PM's bro, check it. Think to most recent PM I sent you is the cheapest place to find the screens.

If you can splurge on the Elite, go that route. Monoprice and HTdepot offer nice screens too, but may suffer in build quality. If you decide to go electric screen opt for tab-tensioned.

Here's the Elite screen Sherardp recommended for me and my Epson 6100:

It's a little more expensive than it was a couple of months ago, but I'm VERY happy with it.

Congrats on the PJ. Awesome deal and you're going to love it!!

C'mon, Bill....you know that's not true. It took me 4 years to finally pull the trigger on a projector. The last piece of gear I bought was from Doro...and that was about 3-4 years ago now.

You or anyone else are going to drive yourselves nuts trying to keep up with the Jones' because you can't do it without going broke. I wish I had the kind of theater space Grim and Sherard have, but that's not going to happen for a long time even with the addition of a projector.

The thing I have going for me is not having a wife to tell me what I can and can't do to my house. :p;) I just hope this economy turns around so I can stop worrying so much about business (and so some of ya'll can get hired again somewhere good). :(

Just wait till you throw a Blu Ray player into the mix, it'll take that projector into a different league.:)

If you decide to go with the monoprice motorized screen, buy one of the FAVI screens from amazon instead. They are the same Chinese made screens that Monoprice sells, but you get free shipping through amazon. I had to pay $88 for shipping for my 108" Monoprice screen. The FAVI screens come with RF and IR remotes too while the Monoprice one requires you to pay another $30 for the remote.

I would have bought on of the Favi screens instead if I hadn't already received my Monoprice screen.

Here's a link to the Favi screens on amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=favi+screen&x=0&y=0

They are priced cheaper than Monoprice too.

Arrived today as stated. :D Looks great. Couldn't help throwing an image up on the wall at the office. Will report back later once I get access to some material to view.

Great communication. Would buy from again with confidence.

    Thanks, Mike!
