About a dozen days into 2010 and I know mine is off to a slow start. Slow start because I have not been able to crank up the system and get some good time in. However that will change in a few days, thank god!! It's killing me not to be able to listen for extended periods at all volume levels like I am used to. My brothers got a new place to live and will be moving in real soon. Kids are back to school and wife working like a good slave :D

I did get about a half hour in to listen to Fleetwood Mac Rumors and I gotta say I have never heard such beautiful "things" :) Next week I expect to post some listening impressions on the Musical Fidelity A5 CDP, MIT S3 IC's and NOS tubes.

So far so good. Did a budget, started a new savings scheme, paid off all the bills, ordered a new subwoofer, just received some parts to upgrade the TT, project at work is going through smoothly and in general life is good! Oh, and the best part is I just found a Fuddruckers in Colorado before the holidays, I love their burgers!

Packer game has made it down so far, but fishing has been good! As I was driving on the ice in my SUV yesterday to one of my favorite spots I decided to stop at a different spot for a bit, what a good decision that was. Pulled in 15 perch in about 45 minutes, then I moved on to my destination and got my limit of walleyes in an hour. Then I went slummin for some eelpout and got 2 over 7 pounds and 3 others in about 2 hours. After I got home it took me almost as much time to clean them as it did catching them! lol
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

    Let's see.

Got the bathroom finished...YAY! Pull the protective plastic off the bathtub, 6 inch by 11 inch gash in the bottom...BOO!

Ordered new blinds for the house...YAY! Blinds show up, double blinds on single header, left blind is 42" (correct) right blind is 25" (wrong)...BOO! Blind company's website for ordering sucks...double BOO! Blind company blames me and says I entered incorrect information even though I have a confirmation email with the correct information...triple BOO!

Went with a friend to get him an apartment so he could get custody of his son after his crazy ex had him taken away...YAY! He gets accused by crazy ex who is off her meds of harassing her in Boston  and then picked up and thrown in jail on $25K bail due to priors...BOO!

Fixed the broken headlight switch, did a brake job and new tires on my truck...YAY! Go to drive girlfriend home after Cowboys game (yay!) and lose oil pressure...BOO!

    Yeah, this year sucks already.

Mixed. I've had some good Karma come my way so far, as well as a lot of aggravation.

It has been a very good year, so far! Pay raise, new audio toys, The Beatles new CD box set and a collection of 25 XRCD Jazz CDS from Elusive Disc coming my way. And my youngest daughter told us she's getting married!

Great so far! The repair on the Maggies worked great, closed a huge deal on a property in Malibu (five years in the making).

Last year was tough but finished well. Looking forward to better times.

Today is the 12th and I've golfed four days so far this in Los Angeles, have a tee time of 9:50 in the morning (I'm in Baton Rouge, LA for a few days). Its going to be in the 50's but its sunny. Then its off to Washington DC (burrrrr) for the weekend and back to California for another week of golf. Work starts Feb. 1.....

I hope everyone has a great year.

Well better than I thought so far. I have a new gf well at least I think so anyway haha. We have been spending a lot of time together over the last three weeks or so and shes great.

Getting ready to send my xovers to ben shortly so that will be great.

Back is still messed up and I'm not back to work yet so that part sucks, money is getting a little tight but still some coming in. And the yearly bonus check from the company I contract to is going to be showing up shortly so that will help alot.

Heres to good things for the year to come.

I have three packs left in my carton and then I'm going to join you. I had quit for 3 years then picked up the nasty addiction again. It really does make you feel like **** especially that I'm inhaling filtered cigars because they are only $12 a carton. How sick is that?

Don't finish teh carton Joe, just toss them and quit. The "I'll quit as soon as...." thing never works as much as just saying "SCREW THIS" and tossing everything in the garbage.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Well Bob I had tried many, many ways of quiting in the past and when I set a date, time and finished my last pack I had the most success so I'm going to go with what worked the last time. However this time I'm going to make sure I don't make the mistake of giving in to the temptation that just one to calm my nerves will work. It doesn't.

    Thanks for the advice though.

Well good luck no matter how ya do it. It took me a few tries but I finally kicked the habit myself a couple years ago, and once the cravings were gone I was (and am) definitely glad I did.

We lost some family and pets last year, a few scares with parents health issues; confident that 2010 will be better, at least the parents seem to be doing much better. 2010 for us will be all about debt clearing and savings building.

MAJOR changes on the job front; our activity is going through a big reorganization. It will be dissolved as an activity, but we'll all be picked up by other agencies in the building. They'll likely move me under G-4 (logistics HQ), and Bev will go to G-8 (Budget). All of this is a precursor to the later creation of the "Cyber Command"--probably about 5-6 yrs down the road.
