Need a stick of PC133 SDRAM

Hi guys,
I'm in need of a 256 or 512mb stick of SDRAM for an old Dim4100 Dell. Since this is essentially obsolete, I figured someone might have some laying around that they'd be willing to part with cheap or free. It's for my father-in-laws computer-- He's running XP on 128 MB and wonders why it's so slow--and I'm trying to help. Thanks!

I have a 256MB stick of PC100. I might have some PC133 but I'll have to open up some old carcasses. Free, just let me know if you want it and PM me your address.

check out any PC recycle stores in your area, If the PC100 doesn't work for you. I have seen them there before. Did you need PC100 or PC133? I might have some also, have to find it though. It has been awhile.

Be easier to just junk it and buy a new one.... Even building a pc out of extra parts laying around would be faster!
Pc133..wow thats old school. I have 1.5gigs of ECC PC133 in my server, its almost like gold.Main Surround -

I am almost 100% certain I have what your looking for. I have a box full of old memory sticks let me look and see if I do I will PM you for address info.
No guarntee that if I do thats it's any good but hey it's free
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
Well it looks like I have one stick of PC133 SDRAM 128mb if your father has two memory slots it would double it anyhow.
I Also have 4 sticks of what I think is memory from an old server the numbers are as follows.
USA DEM DP133RO72643H
64X72 133-133
01333-14018-0114
512MB
If anyone can use it let me know.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still trying to figure out what to do. He's got two slots but a max. capacity of 512. I found one stick of 256 that I had laying around and I robbed another computer that I have (but still use: It's my speaker-building test rig- so I need to put the memory back in eventually) of another 256. That helped his old machine out considerably, so I think it's worth doing. He has no intention of getting a new computer any time soon.
Sami: I think I'm correct that the PC100 would work but would just operate at the slower speed? Wonder how much of a drawback that would actually be? Insignificant compared to operating on half the RAM?
Thanks,

I have these if they will help. These came out of my Dell PC. They work fine.
Let me know"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. It all depends on what the processor runs at. If the clock speed of RAM is the bottleneck now, it will run slower. If the processor is the bottleneck then PC100 vs PC133 won't matter. I would think he's better off with double the RAM at 100MHz than half at 133MHz. If that PC100 is CAS2 (latency) the chances are you could run it at 133MHz.
Overall, you will notice good improvements with the increase in memory AND by optimizing XP. That means cutting out all unnecessary services and program startups. I would start by disabling themes service, if not already done. You can PM me for more help if needed.
heiney, that's DDR (Double Data Rate) memory, won't work for him.
