So after a little looking around this great site, i've discovered the coffins that reside in my living room are sda srs 1.2tl's. They seem to be held in very high regard around here! I'm currently driving them with a denon 5800 that used to be in my theatre but i replaced it with a 3808ci. i also have a spare bryston 1b and a carver a753x that i might hook up for a try.
Two channel, Here i come!
Two Channel-SDA SRS 1.2tl's,modded, Cambridge Audio 851w amps(2),Cambridge 851e pre, VPI Scout 1.1 tt, Moon audio phono pre,oppo bd105.

Just curious, how'd you come by these "coffins?" :)

Well...I've always been a big stereo and than ht guy, I sold a boat back in '99 and the guy that bought it showed me these speakers he wanted rid of. Being a bit of a "hobbyist" with all things audio, I couldn't resist working them into the deal. Took a grand off the boat and carted them home. Good thing I had a suburban at the time! So they have sat in my living room for 11 years and I've used them for my "two channel" rig. Being winter and all i recently decided to re-examine the rig, initially wanting to replace them with something (anything) smaller. Wife is cool, doesn't mind looking at them so I'm thinking a little resto on them, replacing the one blown tweeter and maybe some upgrades. They are a 9 out of 10 condition-wise. :D
So now I'm looking at a pair of rta 15tl's a guy I know has for a 2nd ht for my kids.
    Ooops, maybe i'm addicted!

Welcome, there are many things you can do in the upgrading process. You may fall into a money spending addiction though so pace yourself:D. With good source and amps these speakers are very hard to beat under $10k.

Welcome to Club Polk allstock! Now all you have to do is replace the SL3000 with RD0198s, update the crossovers with Sonic Caps & Mills resistors, Dynamat the midwoofer & passive radiator baskets and make sure the seals on the cabinet are good and tight. Oh yeah and you may want to consider replacing the stock binding posts with Cardas CCCR post.

That should keep you busy and will definitely make your listening experience an awesome one.
