I just purchased four Monitor 70's from Newegg for 179.00 each and want to set them up with basic placement? Currently they are side by side two inches from either side of 73 inch rear projection .Basically four fronts with no rears.I might add some Orb Audios I have for rear when I upgrade reciever from my Sony STR-D 590 which I cannot get the rear channels to work? Thanks

    WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!!

You're using 4 M70s as fronts with a SONY receiver...good luck with that....that AVR won't last too long! How big a room do you have and why do you want to run so many towers up front?

Two should be adequate..but you'll need more power.

The m70's were on sale with coupon for $159.99 when I first discovered them.By the time I decided to purchase them they went to 179.99 and I contacted Newegg about the 159.99 price. Then the Newegg raised the price again to 199.99. So since I was already dealing with customer service they sold them to me for 179.99. The way it looks to me is that they will all be out of stock soon? Get them while you can! thanks for the advice.

I have my M=70's about 2.5' away, from my 61" rear projector. They are also pointed towards my center chair. As others have said get the CS2 center really brings the whole thing together. If you can get some rears.

Here is a guide from Dolby for speaker placement. It is a good start, but it is really up to you where they sound their best. Mess around with them and if your AVR has a calibration program (IE Audyssey) give that a shot too. Hope you get it all set up and sounding good.
