I guess with the new 3-D TVs you need to wear the obnoxious glasses (?).
Plus, if your color-blind, as 2 of my family members are, 3-D is useless.
I'll stick with a Plasma when I'm ready to upgrade.

It shouldn't be useless if you use Polarized glasses right? Since they're clear colored, and not the red/blue or green ones.

After going to IMAX 3D I like to take the glasses and go driving with them. Certainly makes things interesting.

i saw avatar in a real d 3d. the glasses were not colored red/blue, they were both clear/grey. What drove me nuts though was seeing a slight reflection on the inside of the lenses.

They are not like regular polarized sunglasses though where both lenses are polarized at the same angle. With 3D polarized one lens is I believe 45 degrees rotated off the other. Color blind people should still get the 3D effect.

Reg 3d is 2:35:1 screen where the IMAX is close to a 4:3 screen. The seating position is also on a steeper angle in IMAX seating.

I love how music can brighten up a bad day.

I saw the blue people movie in IMAX last week. The sound was awesome! What do they do in IMAX that makes it so much better?

I agree, IMAX has fantastic surround sound and THUNDEROUS bass. The picture is good to. Haven't seen digital 3D as in AVATAR!
