welcome to the club. I'll try to point you in the right direction with some general info.Theres lots of different ways to do this, so I'll go for the easiest. if the cable box has an hdmi out I'd run that strait to the xbr. run another hdmi from the tv out to receiver. run an hdmi from the bdp to the receiver. on most receivers you have to asign the hdmi to the corresponding components in the receivers settings. you have the choice of running a set of your surrounds off the amp and a set from the receiver, but the onkyo will power them just fine and free up a little juice in the amp - your call. run 3 interconnect cables from the receivers pre-outs(if you decide to run all your surrounds from the receiver) into the amps designated inputs. left front out from receiver to left front in to the amp. do this with right front and center also. run the speaker cables from amp outputs to the corresponding speakers. run a set of speaker cables from each of the receivers outputs - surround left/right and surround back left/right to each of the corresponding surround speakers. run a sub cable from the designated sub out on the back of the receiver.make sure all your speaker connections are secure. plug all your components in to the monster power strip but NOT the amp, plug that into its own outlet. try to keep all power cables away from anything carrying a signal, speaker wires ect..take your time with cable management. The instructions for the onkyo will explain how to run the audessy setup and its the best place to start. you can fine tune and tweek from there.
    hope that helps
