So, I'm the president of my local Jaycees chapter (international volunteer org). In our chapter hall we have an assortment of recreational games to entertain us after meetings (pool, shuffleboard(WHICH IS AN AMAZING GAME), ping pong, etc) as well as a couple decades-old Ms. Pacman arcade game that was donated to the hall by my father.

Well, some member(s) decided that they wanted their money back after playing it and broke into the innards of the machine and snatched around $40 worth of quarters. In the process it appears they did something to damage the components, as the lights will turn on (the logo on top, etc), but the screen itself won't come on anymore.

I'm looking to get it repaired, but there's no one nearby that I can find. I was wondering if anyone had any experience and could tell me what kind of prices i'd be looking to pay in order to have it looked at and repaired?

I'd say stick a few rolls of quarters up those member's arses and make them fix it.

Wish I could be of more help though.

www.garagearcade.com these guys are located in Ft. Worth, TX which is a long way from McMinnville, but they may be a good place to start.
BTW I have family in McMinnville. Years ago on the way back from visiting family my in-laws wanted us to pick up a purchase from a gallery in McMinnville. Sure no problem 50 lbs. bronze of two ducks, I still remember the arm cramps in the airport!

If it came in working condition from your father, did he ever work on it? If yes, can't he guide you best?

Otherwise, I'd recommend looking on forums (arcadecontrols and so forth) for someone that can help you troubleshoot it. Unless someone is willing to look at it for free, it'll cost more to diagnose that it's worth(which isn't much). Chances are nothing is broken, just a switch set incorrectly or a wire that for disconnected.

Well, talked with a guy fairly close by, and it looks like the only thing we might be able to afford is to replace the game board and hope that works. Being a non-profit group, there's not much money to put into repairs/replacements.
