That popping sound may be bad news. My Psw1000 is in the shop cause the amp stopped working. The popping sound started just before it went dead.
All my power and wire connections were tight which you might want to check.

Another thing to check is if it makes the popping sound when it it not connected to anything else. If it is only plugged into power and no sub cable does it still make the same noise?

it only happens when i unplug the power cable then plugging it back in, then i hear a tiny pop sound. so what i did was not to unplug the sub, i just put it in standby/auto mode

Usually the best option anyway, standby mode will shut it off after a pre determined time of inactivity anyway.

I own 4 M&K subs of varisous sizes, when they are unplugged they will have a delay, then a 'pop'. I think it may be a capacitor discharge that is stored perhaps? When plugged in they make a similar 'pop' when energized. If I remember correctly, turning the volume down all the way eliminates the sound you hear??

if you have them completly turned off and not on auto it is normal for it to make some sound .It should'nt be a real loud pop.but a low thump.plus how loud do you have your reciever turned uped when you turn on the sub.
