sooo I decided I have to upgrade my AVR. I was trying to decide if I wanted to get an AVR or save a bit and get a pre/pro. I decided to go with an AVR as I'm sick of the one I currently have and can't decide for the life of me what pre/pro to go with and wanted to give myself some time to see if I can get my ears on one and play with them a bit to see what I like and then decide.
SO the AVR I will be getting will mostly likely be the Pioneer Elite SC-05 or 25. Now I had a 2 channel amp for my rears which I sold, 3 channel for the center and surrounds, and the mono blocks for the front. I won't get rid of the mono blocks as I have RTIA9's and want to give them a bit of power. I sold the 2 channel as I can run those rear surrounds easily off the new AVR. However I don't know if I should get rid of the 3 channel. Its an Emo XPA-3. I would be upgrading it anyways once I decide on a pre/pro with probably parasound or something similar but just don't' know if I should shed it now or later.
A lot of people said that I would probably not notice a difference between the pio's amp section for the surrounds and the XPA-3s. My main concern is the center but that's just me.
What do you guys think? I'm just kinda stuck because if I can sell it thats fine and dandy and if I don't sell no big deal but just need a little push one way or the other.
Thanks!

There is A LOT life outside Emotiva as far as amps go. Sell it and try something different or try something different and then sell which ever one you like least.

oh trust me, emo was my first amps and I just wanted to try to see what I thought of them. I feel like they lacked some detail to be honest. Ya they got power but I also want something that has a lot of detail. I was thinking about trying Parasound or Rotel once I get my pre/pro and go from there. I really like McIntosh but want to try some others before I would go there. -

Go for the Carver/Sunfire if extra power is needed. They are light weight and running cool. -

Why? Is it because it is in-expensive ? -
We can get together sometime, I'll bring my Pioneer SC-07 up by you if you want to compare it to your emotiva amp. In my current HT I'm running all my RTI's off the receiver and the receiver is doing a great job.

Never mind what other people say, keep it & check it out with your own ears between all the speakers. Once YOU determine the difference, THEN decide what you want to do.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Well after some thought, I decided to sell it and put it up as of last night, and well already have someone that is probably going to be sending me the money tonight. I decided because I do want to move away from Emo amps because like I said they are alright but I really want to expand my horizon a bit and test out other stuff. I will for now just use the mono's for the front L/R and then the SC for the other 5 channels. If I find it doesn't do what I want to do I think I'll just pick up a nice 3 channel parasound or adcom and try that out and see if it gives me the sound I want. Thanks for the advice guys!
