axiom as surrounds?

Im about to sell my rti150's in black that I use for surrounds. I have recently aquired the rtia9's and csia6 in cherry. Im wanting a bipole soeaker. BUT...I want it in cherry also. Polk does not make any. So that brings me to axiom Qs8's. They are actually quad directional and can get them in cherry. Since I dont listen to multi channel music only use will be for HT. Will it matter that Im not matching my surrounds in brand? Also any other suggestions that may make cherry bipole surrounds. I mean I could deal with the fxia4 or fxia6 but prefer matching cherry. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks all.

    I think I will contact polk to see if they do make them special order in cherry. You would think that would be a standard. Not black and white. It should be black and cherry to match the fronts.

    I agree.....it is VERY odd that they would not offer cherry surrounds to match their fronts....I never quite understood that one. I think 1 reason for this would be that most people get a small bookshelf speaker in the same line with Polk...and that does come in cherry. Not sure why their bi-poles don't though.

    At any rate.....I really am in the camp where you wont notice a big difference if your surrounds aren't timbre matched. Those Axioms are some great speakers and certanly would not be a bad alternative. I'm a big Axiom sound as they have a nice detailed sound...they are very different from Polks though so you may notice the difference a bit more than other brands.

    Good luck and let us know what Polk says....I'm very curious.

    for "ambience" sound from rears timbre matches "shouldnt' matter that much.im in same boat as u,my center,mains and sub are all cherry wood and guess what,everyone that walks in my door comments on how good they look.

    no one wants to say it but asthetics do matter.....for rears the axioms will do fine
